The 10-step Korean skincare routine: where to start
Share
The Korean routine popularized in recent years rests on a simple principle: layering lighter and lighter textures, from cleansing to sun protection, to multiply benefits without being harsh on the skin.
The 10 classic steps
- Oil cleanser
- Foaming cleanser
- Exfoliant (1 to 2 times a week)
- Toner
- Essence
- Targeted serum
- Mask (2 to 3 times a week)
- Eye contour
- Moisturizer
- Sun protection (in the morning)
No need to feel guilty: nobody does all 10 steps every day. The idea to remember is the order (from the most liquid to the richest) and consistency, not quantity.
A realistic version
Morning: gentle cleanser, serum, cream, sunscreen. Evening: makeup remover, cleanser, targeted serum, night cream. That is already a Korean routine — lightened, but effective.
